Adecco is currently recruiting for a Technical Writer. This is a 12-month remote contract opportunity with a possibility of extension. This role is with one of our government client based in Ottawa. The successful candidate must be eligible for a Reliability level Security Clearance.
The Technical Writer will have the following responsibilities:
Analyzing material, such as specifications (Technical Statement of Work/Requirement), notes, drawings, writing manuals, user guides and other documents to explain the requirement clearly and concisely;
Drafting, reviewing, and revising documents, Scope of Work (SOW), policies, and procedures as assigned;
Create Technical Reports and documentation to support project requirements;
Interacting with managers and other stakeholders to identify documents that require updating/cancellation, gather technical information, and ensure accuracy;
Establishing evaluation criteria to assist in prioritizing subsequent activities;
Create a prioritized revision plan for each functional support area;
Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
The Technical Writer must meet the following mandatory requirements:
2+years of experience working with high level technical writing responsibilities;
2+ years of experience with management system documentation and operating policy documentation;
2+ years of researching for document preparation and preparing outlines for documentation;
2+ years of experience Organizing, writing, editing, reviewing, correcting, and finalizing documentation;
Prioritizing and sequencing work and creating a prioritized, sequenced plan;
Proven experience in writing Scope of Work (SOW) documents and technical reports;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
