Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Independent Contractor to work as a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer for our client in Labrador City, NL. In this role you will be responsible for the planning, design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems and components. This role involves overseeing the manufacturing, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

Shift: 3 weeks on, 1 week off (~160 hrs/shift but additional hours may be required)

Responsibilities:
Create and test electrical equipment and system ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.
Oversee the manufacturing, installation, and testing processes.
Review and analyze technical drawings and specifications to identify and solve any issue Related to electrical power system, including motor control systems (MCCs), switchgears, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical motors, etc.
Identify and address performance, production aid isolation issues.
Review project documentation including schedules, budgets, scope of work, feasibility reports, detailed design, commissioning plans and As built drawings
Work closely with project teams, clients, and consultants to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Ensure adherence to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies.
Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering and apply new technologies where relevant.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of proven experience in a senior electrical engineering role with a strong focus on high to low voltage electrical power systems.
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Proficiency in electrical design software e.g. ETAP
Strong understanding of electrical systems and standards (e.g., Canadian Electrical Code, ANSI, NETA).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
