In this role you will be responsible for supervising and guiding the payroll clerks in support of providing financial accounting and administrative support to the finance team. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, who works with a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Sophisticated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities, strong attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision are key to success. Responsibilities:
Analyze and prepare payroll data for trend analysis including overtime and absenteeism
Liaise between mine site, departments, and technology teams to accurately gather, analyze, document, and deliver business requirements including functional and non-functional requirements
Identify, document and collaborate with external stakeholders on the technical requirements to build and test the integrations
Develop functional data reporting for payroll and accounting purposes
Identify and provide solutions for risks and opportunities
Adapt to changing business requirements and business needs during active design periods
Record and update Requirement Definitions and other documentation
Supervise the Payroll Clerk(s) by implementing training and development plans and administering appraisals
Lead and assist with year-end preparation for annual T4 reporting, CRA tax changes and annual benefit rate updates
Ensure company adherence to internal and external controls
Attend Workshops and Document Business Processes
Analyze reporting requirements and determine if standard reports exist or custom reports are required; write specifications for custom reports that are required
Use Devops to report and monitor defects - follow reporting standards and procedures for testing - document testing results, follow up on fixes and retests
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification
Minimum five years of payroll administration experience with minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
Must have payroll experience in SAP/SuccessFactors
Must have Canadian payroll experience.
Excellent digital proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite®; Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with experience in Payroll applications
