Adecco is currently seeking a Line Cook to join our clients team on a temporary basis. The Line Cook will assist and report to the red seal chef with food/meal preparation; maintain cash receipts and meal records. Assist the chef in completing daily reports. Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
Responsibilities:
Prepare food for service at college campus (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
Report and follow red seal chef's instructions.
Clean up stations and take care of leftover food.
Stock inventory appropriately.
Ensure that food comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements:
2+ years of proven cooking experience in catering or bulk cooking environment.
Must be eligible to work in Canada
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
Good knowledge of English and the language of the market to facilitate conversations with foreign tour teams.
Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
Provide any health/food safety certification documentation as may be required in the relevant market.
