Adecco is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our client’s team in Concord, ON. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a competitive salary of $55,000 to $65,000 per annum. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting accounts payable (AP), assisting with accounts receivable (AR), and performing general accounting tasks as assigned. Responsibilities:
Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient invoice processing.
Reconcile vendor statements, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies.
Manage vendor billback and invoicing processes.
Set up new vendors and maintain banking instructions in accordance with company policies.
Plan and process weekly payments to vendors with appropriate documentation (e.g., Aged AP registers, invoices).
Support the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.
Ensure timely filing and saving of supplier invoices in the network.
Monitor aged A/R and assist in reconciling customer statements and resolving discrepancies with the Collections Analyst.
Assist in the reconciliation of trade deductions with the Collections Analyst.
Serve as the primary backup for the Collections Analyst.
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records.
Record and reconcile intercompany entries.
Prepare daily bank reconciliations and month-end reconciliations for Bank, A/R, and A/P.
Assist in the preparation and filing of monthly HST returns.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Assist with year-end external audits.
Contribute to process improvements and identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
Other tasks/projects as assigned by the Senior Director of Finance.
Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of Junior Accountant or related experience, preferably in distribution or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
A minimum of 2 years of accounting and AP experience
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tables.
Familiarity with QuickBooks.
Experience in distribution or manufacturing
Knowledge of inventory
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
