Adecco is currently seeking an Intake Worker to join their team on a 3-month contract basis with the possibility of extension. The Intake Worker will be responsible for supporting the intake and referral process, ensuring clients are screened and referred to the appropriate services in a timely and efficient manner. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate documentation, managing crisis situations, and liaising with community healthcare service providers. The ideal candidate will have experience in intake, crisis support, and a passion for helping individuals access the care they need.

Responsibilities:
Operating the day-to-day intake and referral operations for our client, working within a shared team model.
Screening applicants and referring them in a timely manner to the appropriate internal program or agency service.
Distributing completed intake forms to the relevant program or agency for processing.
Preparing written and electronic reports following our clients standards.
Making recommendations and assisting clients in accessing alternative services if current options do not meet their needs.
Participating as a member of the Service Resolution Process to find solutions for complex client needs.
Establishing and maintaining liaison with access systems, agencies, and community health service providers across the West Toronto Sub-Region.
Preparing monthly reports and other required data, ensuring accurate completion of screening documents.
Responding to and assessing crisis situations (e.g., self-harm, suicide risks) and referring clients to appropriate crisis services.
Providing administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the intake process.
Requirements:
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
University degree and/or Community College Diploma in Social Services or a related field.
2-3 years of experience in an intake role, particularly in the social services or healthcare sector.
Solid understanding and experience with screening tools.
Proven interview and assessment skills.
Experience providing phone and online support is an asset.
In-depth knowledge of community healthcare services in Toronto, with a focus on services in the West End, preferred.
At least two years of experience in crisis support and intervention.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Applied computer skills (Microsoft Office, Client Information Systems, Web browsing).
Fluency in a second language (preferred).
A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (preferred).
