Adecco is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Generalist for a full-time permanent role with our private client based in Nepean, ON. Ideal candidate must be able to work on-site.
The Human Resources Generalist will have the following responsibilities:
Support the HR Business Partner with investigations and working through to resolutions
Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees and leaders that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, disputes, and all other employee-relations matters
Maintain compliance records and follow up on leave of absences
Advise the operations team on HR practices and policy interpretation
Assist the Operations team with disciplinary matters and corrective action
Assist the HR Business Partner with all internal and external HR-related matters
Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster a strong employee experience
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of current legislation relating to employment law, WSIB, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code to ensure regulatory compliance.
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable employment laws and requirements
Administer any employee requests for verification letters
Assists with internal employee changes, drafting applicable paperwork and obtaining appropriate approval from leadership
Assist the HR Business Partner with facilitating pay increases
Draft disciplinary letters based on inputs received by HR Business Partner and the H&S team.
Assists in the communication and interpretation of updated legislative requirements related to the Global Policy and Procedures
Supports Operations with the annual review of Divisional Specific Policies and Procedures.
Create and deliver customized reports to support the HR Business Partner and Operational Leaders in the decision-making process
Re-engineer processes to improve efficiency and compliance.
Complete various special projects as requested by the HR Business Partner
The Human Resources Generalist must meet the following mandatory requirements:
Post-secondary education or degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
A CHRP certification is preferred
Clean Criminal Record Search
Strong professional presence, and possess strong planning and organization skills
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization with consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing/negotiating skills
Experience with conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
Commitment to strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and ability to manage sensitive information
Experience working in a unionized environment would be an asset
Highly motivated and a self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities
Completely proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other common applications
Experience with ADP Workforce Now and HR databases are an asset
Knowledge of current legislations relating to employment standards to the capacity of providing counsel including but not exclusive of: Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workers' Compensation Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Adaptable working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time
Able to work independently with minimal direction
Possess enhanced organizational and time management skills
Very strong Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Available to work on-site in the Ottawa office as this is not a remote position
