Responsibilities:
To report directly to the Human Resources Manager on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to recruitment, HRIS administration, employee relations, general HR administration, compensation and benefits, training and development and employee communication.
Responsible for providing HR support to all teams located across Canada
To lead the recruiting, hiring and on-boarding process of both salaried and hourly employees (Posting ads internally and externally, pre-screen candidates, schedule interviews and tests, check references, ensure all applicable paperwork is completed for new hires or other staffing changes).
To oversee the Onboarding for all new hires.
To perform updates on HRIS and maintain other confidential personnel files updated.
To prepare and organize job descriptions, employment letters and training records.
Provides support to supervisors and managers on employee relations issues, performance and attendance management as well as investigations/disciplinary issues.
Support ISO 90001, 14001 and 50001 initiatives and represent HR on all matters related to Training and Competence for ISO Systems Management and Audits.
To participate and assist in the Global Performance Management Program (GPMP) and Merit Rating system.
To assist with Compensation market data as required by the HR Manager.
To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department, as well as other departments across the company.
To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
To fully abide and actively support Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of nature resources and the Health & Safety of all employees.
Qualifications:
University Degree or College Diploma, Majoring in Human Resources
More than 5 years experience in a HR Generalist capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience with SAP Success factors preferred
CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent judgment and discretion in managing highly sensitive and confidential information
Ability to work both independently or in a team environment
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong communications skills, verbal and written
Occasional travel required
