Adecco is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler/Forklift Operator (counterbalance) to join our clients team in Scarborough, ON. In this temporary to permanent role, you will be responsible for efficiently moving and handling materials within the warehouse and production areas while adhering to safety standards. This position offers an hourly rate of $18.73 and provides an excellent opportunity for those looking to leverage their material handling skills in a dynamic environment.

  • Pay rate: $18.73/hour.

  • Location: Scarborough, ON

  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm

  • Job type: Full-time | Temporary to permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and abide by all fork truck safety standards.

  • Move and deliver materials to and from production areas, warehouse, storage, receiving, and shipping areas using hand, pump cart, vacuum lift, jib crane, lift truck, or other safe methods.

  • Move and wrap pallets from manufacturing to warehouse, and service lines with packaging materials.

  • Put stock away in proper locations and use scanning guns for accurate inventory transactions.

  • Load and unload trailers efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Report any inventory shortages or issues to management daily.

  • Participate in plant-wide physical inventories as scheduled.

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Perform any other tasks required by the lead hand and/or management.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.

  • Certified and licensed forklift operator (Counterbalance) required

  • 2 to 3 years in a fast-paced material handling position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience operating forklifts, changing propane tanks, lifting up to 50 lbs, and knowledge of spill cleanups and WHMIS/GHS procedures.

  • Minimum of 85% grade on internal general admissions test.
