In this role you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, monitoring budgets, and identifying cost-saving opportunities to improve the company’s financial performance. Responsibilities:
Monthly reporting on headcount and spend for business areas as required
Creation and management of various tools for tracking spend. Analysis and trend reporting
Provide forecasts and reconciliation reports to CFTs on annual Corrosion survey and maintenance scopes. Showing budget used and scope progress.
Ensuring Contractor Management requirements are met. Input on vendor KPIs.
Review all proposals, indirect %, structured OT, average cost per hour. Ensuring falls within acceptable historical ranges, determining reasoning if not.
Creation and management of cost saving opportunities tool. Tracking planned vs actual cost savings for stake holders.
Engage with budget owners and supply chain management to drive effective cost performance.
Reporting and analysis of spend vs progress (earn vs burn) on various projects.
Bridge gap between commercial and technical aspects of vendor proposals. Expected to have a high working knowledge of contract requirements – independently, and as it pertains to specific execution of work.
Monthly allocation of costs submitted to Finance ahead of month-end. Used to distribute NDE cost center charges.
Input on TA BCE methodology; best practice can evolve YOY to adapt to company processes.
Tracking actuals against BCE plan during TA events, plotting % used vs % planned, documentation of scope creep, scope reduction, unplanned/additional resources/spend.
TA Hot Points: high stakeholder involvement necessitates: creation of tools to track and report progress, delays, rejections, other valuable information in an easily-to-read report.
Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
Must based in Fort MacMurray
Post secondary education in finance or economics is considered an asset with a preference for Business background.
CPA or CCP certification is an asset but not must.
5+ years of experience in cost analyses in Oil & Energy industry.
High working knowledge of SAP (S4 and Fieldglass preferred)
Oil & Energy or similar industry experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong collaboration skills that enables you to build strong, positive relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
