Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Accounting and Controlling Assistant to join our client’s finance team in North York, ON. In this role you will support the finance team by assisting in accounting, reporting, and controlling tasks. This role requires you to be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling a variety of accounting functions in a fast-paced environment. This role requires automotive or dealership experience!

Responsibilities:
Post new and pre-owned vehicle deals and coordinate month-end close with sales managers.
Perform reconciliations of bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, manufacturers' statements, and floor plans.
Prepare accounts payable reports, cheques, and manage outstanding amounts.
Process daily bank deposits, maintain petty cash, and monitor cash and credit card clearing accounts.
Distribute invoices to respective departments and follow up on unpaid accounts.
Reconcile inventory, finance receivables, aftermarket sales, and commission accounts, ensuring all are reconciled prior to month-end close.
Post dealer trade deals, aftermarket sales, and misc. transactions.
Perform monthly account analysis and assist with RICS audit and compliance reporting.
Manage cheque processing, wire transfer requests, and month-end inventory reporting.
Oversee annual renewal of insurance policy and plates, and report on demo/loaner claims.
Support cross-training and backup of team functions.
Qualifications:
Accounting diploma/degree
Previous accounting experience in a dealership
Knowledge of Generally accepted accounting principles
Computer proficiency including the ability to operate spreadsheet, word processing
Advance level excel skills
Excellent numeracy skills, and sound analyzing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
Demonstrate effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain high level of accuracy.
Time management skills.
Trustworthy, respectful and able to demonstrate strong work ethics.
Self-motivated and ability to work with minimum supervision.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
